Polystyrene (PS) is a transparent thermoplastic in natural, but addition of pigments can make it into masterbatch with many colours. It is also one of the most commonly used thermoplastics in the world, with several million tons produced every year. PS can be solid or foamed due to its weak barrier to liquid or gas. For PS colour masterbatch, solid granules are the common practice.
PS colour masterbatch has a wide application in making protective casing (i.e. CD, DVD case), containers, trays and disposable cutlery, etc. In comparison, the usage of expanded PS (XPS), such as disposable food containers, has been reduced significantly in recent years as it cannot degrade and hardly recyclable. To get a well dispersed PS colour masterbatch, intermeshing twin screw extruders are commonly used with three different pelletizing method: water strand pelletizing, water ring hot-face pelletizing and under/in water pelletizing.
For PS colour masterbatch granules, below are the graphical illustrations of the twin screw extruder with three pelletizing methods:

Below is the technical data for PE masterbatch twin screw extruder production line:
By using twin screw extruders with water strand pelletizing, water ring hot-face pelletizing and under/in water pelletizing, you are not limited in only producing PS colour masterbatch.
For those three pelletizing methods, below are the main applicable plastic formulations:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A.How do I get a quotation?
Please get in touch with us with your target material, material application, production rate and any other requirements, via email, phone call, Websiite, or Whatsapp/Wechat. We will reply to your enquire ASAP.
B.What if I need to replace some parts of the machine due to wear and tear?
When you purchase our extruder, there are free spare parts for you to start with. We always recommend our customer to purchase some spare parts for the parts that are constantly under wearing (such as screw elements and pelletizer knives, etc). However, if you happen to run out, we always have spare in our factory, and we will send them to you via air freight so that it does not disturb your production.
